Looking to customize your Google Forms and give them a professional touch? Want to reinforce your brand in company surveys? Adding a logo is a great way to do all of those things! Incorporating your logo into your forms can create a cohesive and credible experience for your respondents.
In this blog post, we’ll teach you how to add a logo to a Google Form in a few simple steps. Let’s get started!
How to add a logo to your Google Forms
Step 1: Open up the Google Form
Navigate to Google Forms. Find and click the form where you’d like to add a logo under your recent forms. If you don’t see the form you’d like to work on, you can use the search bar.
Step 2: Open Google Forms Theme settings
When your form opens, click the “Customize theme” button (color palette icon) in the top right corner. Doing this will open up a side panel where you’ll see all the theme settings.
Step 3: Choose a header image for Google Forms
Now, to add an image to the Google Forms header, click the “Choose an image” button under “Header” in the theme settings.
This will open a window where you’ll see three options for selecting a header image: Themes, Upload, and Photos. Themes has Google-provided images in several categories, Upload allows you to upload from your device, and Photos lets you pick from your Google Images.
When you click Upload, a window will open up. Click “Browse” and follow the steps to upload your brand logo to your Google Forms.
When you upload your form logo, you can resize and reorient it before it’s applied to your form. Make sure the header is the right size so it doesn’t look warped!
When you click “Done,” your logo will appear at the top of your form as a header.
You can further enhance the appearance of your image by playing with the color settings in the side panel. You don’t need to worry about color schemes clashing, as Google Forms will pull the most flattering colors from your logo’s color scheme and display it in the settings.
With that, you’ve successfully added your logo to your Google Form. There’s one more way to display your logo in your Google Form: you can add it to a question.
Step 4: (optional) Add logo to a question
Let’s add a logo to a question in Google Forms. Go to the question where you want to add the logo. Click the “Image” button on the right side of the question.
You’ll see all the source options available to insert your Google Forms logo on the top, but we’re going to choose “Upload.” Click Browse and upload your logo.
Now your logo will appear as an image in your question. If you want to change the positioning of the logo, click on the three dots in the left corner.
By doing so, you can re-align your logo any way you like. You can change, remove your logo, or even add a caption.
Click on the preview button on the top right corner of the form to see how your logo appears in front of your respondents in the question.
And that’s how you add a logo to a question in Google Forms!
Tips about branding or adding a logo to your Google Forms
The importance of adding a logo to Google Forms
It may take a few additional minutes, but adding a logo to your Google Forms is important because it helps you create a professional and consistent brand image. When you include your logo, it instantly grabs your respondents' attention and makes your form look more polished and trustworthy.
A form logo also adds a visual element and makes it more engaging and memorable. Making more than one form creates a cohesive look and feel across all your forms, whether surveys, quizzes, or feedback forms. This consistency builds credibility.
Other ways to add branding to surveys
Since branding is so crucial for the success of a business, you should look at all possible ways to display your brand logo. Apart from adding a brand image to the top of your Google Form or as an image in a question, you can customize your theme based on your brand colors. You can choose to use fonts that align with your branding image, too.
Another great way to include your logo is as a footer in your Google Form. To do this, go to the last question on your form, and click the “Add image” button in the floating menu next to your form. Follow the steps above to upload your form logo.
Once the logo appears in your form, align it centrally. Leave the question field empty.
Your logo will now appear in the footer of your form like this.
Insert a form logo on response summary
There’s another easy way to add your logo to Google Forms: add it to the response summary that is returned to your respondents. However, while the default response summary provided by Google Forms includes the images in questions and footers, it doesn’t show the logo in the header image. Plus, you can’t reformat the summary doc to your liking.
If you want to create branded response summaries, the best way to do that is with Form Publisher! Form Publisher is a free add-on for Google Forms that automatically creates custom response summaries upon submission. You can even create workflows for your office to go fully paperless!
This way, you can choose how the response summary looks before it’s sent out to respondents of your survey.
