Add-ons can often make your Google Forms experience incredibly efficient. However, sometimes add-ons start complicating your workflow or simply outlive their utility. When this happens, learning how to manage add-ons becomes essential.
Whether you're looking to declutter your interface or resolve conflicts caused by unwanted extensions, this post will show you how to identify and remove unwanted add-ons from your Google Forms.
What are Google Forms add-ons?
Google Forms add-ons are third-party tools that enhance functionality by providing more options and features. These additional features and options are often not available directly in the Google Forms interface or aren’t very efficient in the software as it is.
For instance, Google Forms doesn’t provide a feature to save filled forms as PDF documents. You can print and save them as PDFs manually, but this is an inefficient process. A simple add-on called Form Publisher can bridge this feature gap in Google Forms. When you install Form Publisher on your Google Forms, a filled form is instantly turned into a document, and there’s plenty more you can do: customize the look and presentation of the documents, produce documents in different file formats, create documents out of Google Sheets data, etc.
Add-ons allow you to continue using Google Forms with all its benefits while enjoying added features and conveniences. Google Forms add-ons are available in the Google Workspace Marketplace and can be easily installed once you’re signed into your Google Account on your browser.
How to uninstall add-ons from Google Forms
Step 1: Open Google Form in edit mode
Navigate to your Google Forms and open any form in the edit mode.
Click the three dots in the top right corner. If you don’t see the three dots in the top right corner, you may be in the ‘Preview’ mode.
Click the ‘Edit form’ button in the right corner to return to Edit mode.
Step 2: Click “ Get Add-ons”
Click ‘Get add-ons’ in the drop-down menu that opens when you click the three dots.
A new Google Workspace Marketplace window will now open. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of this window.
Step 3: Click “Manage apps”
Click ‘Manage apps.’
Now, you’ll be able to see all the installed apps and add-ons. Identify the add-on you want to uninstall and click the three dots in the corner. If you have many apps and can’t find the one you’re looking for, use the search feature at the top.
Step 4: Remove Google Forms add-ons
Click ‘Uninstall.’
Confirm that you want to uninstall the app to remove the add-on. Repeat the same process to uninstall other Google Forms add-ons.
Now that you’ve removed the add-ons you wanted, you may need to replace them with better, more efficient add-ons. Check out our list of helpful add-ons for Google Forms. You may find a better alternative to the add-on you were relying on.
